Approval Policy
Blade Strings Ltd.
At Blade Strings Ltd., we want you to be completely confident in your instrument choice. To help you find your voice, we offer a 14-day Approval period on all our instruments before you commit to a purchase.
1. How Our Approval Period Works
The 14-day Approval period we offer is to ensure you are fully satisfied with an instrument before you buy it. This is not a purchase; it is an agreement for a short-term loan for an interested party to try an instrument with a view to purchase
-
Eligibility: All new and antique instruments are available for a 14-day Approval.
-
There is no fee for Approval
-
You may be asked to cover the insurance for the instrument and the duration. If you decide to purchase the instrument, this cost will be deducted from the sale price.
-
Proof of identity must be provided.
-
Approval Period: The Approval period begins on the day you take the instrument from us and lasts for 14 calendar days.
-
Condition of Return: The instrument must be returned in the same condition as it was taken, allowing for normal use. Any damage beyond normal use will be assessed, and the cost of repair or restoration may be charged to you.
-
No Obligation to Buy: At the end of the 14-day Approval, you have three options:
-
Purchase the Instrument: If you are happy with the instrument you can purchase it.
-
Request an adjustment: If you are mostly happy with the instrument but believe that it may need minor adjustment or tonal optimisation to best fit your needs, please let us know. Once an instrument has been adjusted we offer a further 7-day trial.
-
Return the Instrument: If you choose not to purchase the instrument, you must return it to Blade Strings in the same condition as it was taken.
-
2. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
Please note that this Approval policy is separate from and does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). The consumer guarantees provided by the ACL (e.g., that goods are of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, etc.) apply only after you have purchased an item.
Once you have completed the Approval and purchased the instrument, you are then protected by the full force of the Australian Consumer Law. If a product you have purchased from us has a problem that falls under the ACL, you are entitled to a remedy (repair, replacement, or refund) as per the law.
3. Exclusions from Approval
This Approval policy does not apply to:
-
Consumable items including but not limited to strings or rosin.
-
Accessories like cases, unless specifically agreed upon as part of an instrument Approval package.
-
Special orders or custom-made instruments.
-
Services, such as tonal adjustment and optimisation.
